A: That was in the exodus of Mariel, 1980. The political environment was getting very difficult and fidel opened the gates to let so many people leave. That is one of the reasons that have allowed fidel to be there for 50 years. The USA receives us and fidel gets some relief. It would had been better to apply force when the revolution began, but Kennedy did not do it
