Help!!! Going to Cuba in 10 days passport expires Jan 20th.?

Q: Hi everyone I need some help. My friend and I are going to Cuba in 10 Days but my Canadian Passport expires Jan 20th.. so Just over 4 months left.. Will they still let me go? What can I do or Where can I call to confirm. We are only going for one week's vacation. Thanks for you help! Well everywhere I look says Passport must be valid 6 months after your return.. I was a little worried.. Thought it was really stupid myself but hey you never know!! Great thank you all so much.. I will call around to be 100% sure!! Thanks again.

A: I'm actually in the process of renewing lol...if you go in person, the process can take UP to 2 weeks. It can be sooner...if you request a rush it might cost extra. Yes, it can be confusing. Even though they give you an expiry date, your passport is required to be valid for at least 6 months prior to the date of entry into the country you wish to visit. http://www.passport.gc.ca/support/faq.aspx?lang=eng&id=1201 NOW THAT SAID... It most likely will NOT be an issue of serious concern. This solely depends on what the country of entrance requires. Cuba requires that your passport be valid for at least one month beyond the date of your expected departure from the country. http://www.voyage.gc.ca/dest/report-en.asp?country=69000 So you are fine. BUT, for extra assurance, print out this link and carry it with you in case officials say anything...AND call your local passport office and tell them what you found online at the government site just to be reassured. Have a great time in Cuba!
