Q: I'm going to Barbados on Sunday! What are the traditional foods i should try? Do they eat rice or potatoes? Is it safe for us to venture out of our all inclusive hotel and get a real feel for the traditional Barbados? Will we be hassled?

A: Its the best country in the world! You may find some of the waitresses a bit rude or stubborn...but its just their 'laid-back' attitude to life! They eat both rice and potatoes along with a meat dish! If you are stayiLawrenceSt Lawerence Gap, would should try and get food off a believeh i beleieve is called "Roy's Van". It sells traditional Bajan food such as Chicken Foot Soup (btw do not ask for the chicken foot unless you're adventurous!), Flying Fish, Chicken Rice and Peas and many more depending which day it is. It come usually around lunchtime when i was over there last! Also you must try to go to Oistins. This is along the south coast and is a fish market in the day, but during the evening and night has little bars and food places. You must check out "George's Fish Grill" who does a meal for about $5Bajan! You can also try a Roti which is a savoury pastry with a meaty filling of your choice! Try curried chicken at the "Roti Hut" also neoppositeap, oppostie a Shell Petrol Station! Along Miami Beach there is a Van that sells amazing Flying Fish Cutters! And also Granny's Kitchen a little supermarket sells meals at cheap prices! Make sure you venture out of your hotel, although the food in the hotel will be amazing..you must try out the local dishes served by the real Bajan nation! You will have a ball! I'm going within the next week or so and can't wait!!!
