Q: we are planning a vacation next spring in the Bahamas, but are wondering if we should wait until Dec. to plan so that we know if where we want to go is still there after hurricane season?
A: Spring time is really a great time to visit the Bahamas. April, May and June. The prices drop after April 15th. Hurricane season will be over November 30th, you will have plenty of time to plan a spring vacation. I believe so far Grand Bahama Island and Nassau have been spared the worst of Hanna and Ike. lets keep our fingers crossed. After the New Years the deals will start showing up. Start to do some research now so you will know what a good price is when you see it. When we travel, I usually start in earnest researching everything 6 months out. I research but I book my trips through a travel agency. I like having people I can talk to backing me up. If we are just flying some where, I book direct with the airlines.
